A very warm welcome to the Perthshire Bowling Association website.

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for trusting me with the Presidency for the 2026 season. I am truly humbled and honoured to take on this prestigious role, and since taking the Presidency have received many encouraging messages, and as such will do my utmost to continue to work in further developing our County’s bowling in 2026.

These last few years of being on the Committee has been of great value, and learned so much from many experienced bowlers, and I shall endeavour to put that learned experience into practise in order to drive our great County forward in 2026.

I would like to thank our 2025 President James Scott for his efforts last year, which saw some tremendous success. With Glencarse lifting the National Top 10 Trophy; a truly superb achievement to be part of and will live long in my memory. For 2026, the County will be represented by Perth Bowling Club, where we wish all their players the very best.

In addition, the Top 5 was represented by Dunning. They played exceptionally well, however a very strong Inverkeithing team won. For 2026, the County will be represented by Glencarse, and we wish them well.

In 2025 we saw our U25 players make considerable progress and 2026 looks very promising indeed. The U25’s is managed by Amanda, Susan and Gus and their efforts are appreciated, and we look forward to 2026 and what tit holds for our future County stars.

This year has seen some other changes with the Association, with AHT Team Manager, Graham Stewart stepping down, as has our Secretary Gordon Barclay. I would personally like to thank them both for their service to the PBA over the years. They have been absolute stalwarts within the PBA and whilst they have stepped down, I know they will be supporting the AHT Team in 2026.

Willie Donaldson has taken over the AHT Team Manager supported by Colin Gourley and Jim Scott, Gary Hinks has stepped into the Secretary role and Martin Gowrie the Match Secretary role. I would like to wish them the very best in their roles as they support myself and the County going forward.

Lastly, I would wish to wish Arthur Donaldson as he steps down from the PBA. Arthur has been a Committee member for many years, and I know his efforts are very much appreciated by all present and past bowlers within the County. I’m sure Arthur will be supporting the Team from the comfort of the clubhouses when we play in the AHT games.

At this stage it just leaves me to wish you all a great season for 2026….C’MON THE BIG COUNTY!

Stephen A.Gordon – 2026 President
